Telescoping Flagpole Questions

A telescoping flagpole is made of multiple nested aluminum sections that slide and lock into each other — like a car antenna. To raise the flag, you extend each section upward and twist it to lock in place. To lower it, you twist and collapse each section down. No ropes, no pulleys, no hardware beyond the pole itself. The Phoenix uses a patented Securi-LOK™ internal locking system that holds each section firmly at full extension even in high winds.
Most customers complete installation in 20–30 minutes. The process: dig or auger a hole for the ground sleeve (typically 18–24 inches deep), set the sleeve, insert the base section, lock each telescoping section together, and attach the flag. The general rule is flagpole height should be roughly 1.5× the height of your roofline. For most single-family homes, the 20 ft pole is the most popular choice — it flies a 4×6 ft flag and is clearly visible from the street without overwhelming the property. The 15 ft is ideal for townhomes, condos, or smaller yards. The 25 ft is best for large lots, corner properties, or anywhere you want maximum presence.
Yes — the Phoenix is rated and guaranteed to 100 MPH winds on properly installed 20' and 25' models (see the full Wind-Rated Performance for eligibility and exclusions, including hurricanes and tropical storms). It’s built from 12-gauge aircraft-grade American aluminum, the same material used in structural applications. The twist-lock sections hold securely at full extension.
The standard recommendation: use a flag that is roughly 25% of the pole height. For a 15 ft pole, a 3×5 ft flag is correct — it’s included in Premier Kits on the 15 ft variant. For a 20 ft or 25 ft pole, a 4×6 ft flag is the right size and is included in all Patriot and Presidential Kits, and in Premier Kits on the 20 and 25 ft variants.
