The Pennsylvania state flag (the flag of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania) is the state's coat of arms centered on a blue field, with the blue being the same blue as the American flag. Pennsylvania's coat of arms features a shield crested by a bald eagle, showing it's loyalty to the Union, with a horse on each side supporting the shield. Under the shield a corn stalk and an olive branch cross, which symbolizes peace and prosperity.
Pennsylvania House of Representatives voted in favor of adding the word "Pennsylvania" to the flag in letters of gold in 2005; however, the state Senate still has not voted on the matter.
