The Massachusetts state flag is also called the flag of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Centered on a field of white the flag proudly displays the state's coat of arms. An Algonquian Indian with a bow and arrow is displayed on the blue shield in gold, with his arrow pointing down representing peace. Next to the top of his bow is a single white star with 5 points signifying Massachusettes as the 6th state to join the union. Above the shield rests a single arm with a sword signifying the philosophy that it is better to lose your right arm rather than live under tyranny, his sword is pointing up to remind everyone that is was through the American Revolution that liberty was won. Surrounding the shield is a blue ribbon inscribed with the Massachusettes state motto "Ense Petit Placidam, Sub Liberate Quietem," which translates to "By the Sword we seek peace, but Peace only under Liberty."

After 5 years my original flag needed to be replaced. Not because it was torn or tattered. It was just not as vivid and bright as I thought it could be. The sun here in Calabash NC is very brutal and the wind is harsh.
The new flag is outstanding. Construction and materials are second to none. Flying high on my 25 foot black/bronze pole there is no more beautiful sight to look upon. Thank you Atlantic Flag & Pole.

Phoenix 20' Telescoping Original Premier Flagpole Package
I purchased my flagpole about 2 weeks ago and it arrived promptly within 4 days. I got busy and did the install that same day. It was really quite a simple job and I was done in about an hour. The quality of this flagpole is impressive. I purchased the black/bronze pole and it's a nice departure from the standard silver you see everywhere. I also complemented the pole with the black/bronze flash collar and the ball topper. Raising and lowering the flagpole is very simple and I am impressed with the locking mechanisms between the sections. I had been looking at flagpoles over the years and I am glad I came across this offering. The only thing I need to do now is pick out which flag I'll fly as my second on the pole. I highly recommend this flagpole.
