Half-Staff
By Presidential Proclamation, the flag is flown at half-staff upon the death of principal figures.
Notifications go out the same day the proclamation is announced.
How do I fly my flag at half-staff?
The flag should be first hoisted to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff position. The flag should be again raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day. On Memorial Day the flag should be displayed at half-staff until noon only, then raised to the top of the staff.
Can telescoping poles go half-staff?
Yes! Our Phoenix Telescoping Flagpoles use a unique Duo-Harness coupler. To fly at half-staff, simply move your flag to the lower set of rings.
