3x5 New Hampshire State Flag For Sale The New Hampshire state flag is a blue flag with the New Hampshire State seal in the center surrounded by laurel leaves forming a wreath with 9 stars interspersed. The state seal depicts the frigate USS Raleigh in the harbor of Portsmouth, one of the first 13 war ships sponsored by the Continental Congress in 1776.  Behind the ship is a rising sun showing Portsmouth becoming a major shipbuilding center. There is a yellow strip of land representing New Hampshire's rugged landscape and the sturdy character of her people. 3x5 Missouri State Flag For Sale The Missouri state flag has 3 stripes; one of red' one of white' and the other of blue. The red stripe is at the top, white in the middle, and blue at the bottom. The color in these stripes all have their own meaning. The red represents valor, the white stands for purity, while the blue represents the permanency, vigilance, and justice of the state.  In the center of the strips sits the Missouri state seal surrounded by 24 white stars.The seal contains a shield with the Great Seal of the United States on the right side while the left has images representing the state of Missouri, a bear and a crescent moon. Bears stand on both sides of the shield, signifying strength and bravery. The crescent moon indicates the newness of the state and its potential for growth. Around the shield are the words "United we stand, divided we fall." The shield also has a belt buckle on the bottom as a reminder the state can secede from the Union if necessary. A banner scrolls from the 2 bears feet which reads "Salus Populi Suprema Lex Esto", which translates to "Let the welfare of the people be the supreme law." Below these images are the roman numerals for the year 1820. The mothers head and wings are covering the three baby pelicans. This is called a pelican in her piety. which symbolizes the passion of Jesus and the Eucharist.  Under the image is a banner with the Louisiana state motto "Union, Justice, and Confidence," sitting against a blue background. 3x5 Pennsylvania State Flag For Sale The Pennsylvania state flag (the flag of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania)  is the state's coat of arms centered on a blue field, with the blue being the same blue as the American flag. Pennsylvania's coat of arms features a shield crested by a bald eagle, showing it's loyalty to the Union, with a horse on each side supporting the shield. A scroll flows from the horse's feet that has the saying Virtue, Liberty, and Independence. Within the shield are images of a ship sailing, a clay-red Within the shield are images of a ship sailing, a clay-red plough, and three sheaves of wheat. Which represent commerce, rich natural resources, and fertile fields and the state's wealth of human thought and action, respectively. Under the shield a corn stalk and an olive branch cross, which symbolizes peace and prosperity. Designed by William Todd on unbleached cotton, it features a star imitating the lone star of Texas and a grizzly bear, which were common at the time in California. The words California Republic were placed under the design and was adopted in 1911 as the state flag. 3x5 Colorado State Flag For Sale The Colorado State Flag has 3 equal width horizontal stripes. The color of the top and bottom stripes are blue while the center stripe is white. A Circular red letter C sits on top of the stripes with a golden disk, representing the Spanish Flag. The blue represents the skies of Colorado, the white represents the snow covered mountains, the ruddy earth is represented by the color red while the yellow disk shows off the sunshine enjoyed across the state of Colorado. Interestingly the red and blue on the flag are to be the same exact color red and blue as represented on the flag of the United States of America. The flag was designed by Andrew Carlisle Johnson[2] in 1911 and adopted by the Colorado General Assembly on June 5 of the same year. However, the legislature did not specify the size of the "C" or the exact shade of blue or red. Thus, some flags were in slightly different colors and had the "C" wholly within the center stripe. On February 28, 1929, the General Assembly added to the description of the flag that the blue and red would be the same color as the flag of the United States. On March 31, 1964, the legislature further dictated the diameter of the gold disc to be equal to the center stripe. Above the WI State coat of arms are the words "Wisconsin" and below the seal the year "1848", the year Wisconsin was founded. These were added to the original flag to help differentiate it from similar state flags with the same blue color. The seal has the state motto of "Forward" in a banner above a shield with a badger on top of it. The badger is the state animal of W.I. Within the shield in the center is the United States coat of arms with the motto "E Pluribus Unum" to show the unity of the state and the country. The golden shield is broken into 4 sections around the US coat of arms. The top left of the shield has a plow representing the states strong agriculture industry. The top right of the shield features a pick and shovel showing its strong ties to the mining industry. The bottom left of the shield displays an arm and hammer to show the manufacturing industry within the state. Finally, the bottom right of the state coat of arms shield shows an anchor representing the seas and navigation. The Shield is supported by a sailor and a miner (yeoman.) These 2 figures represent the labor on water and on land within the state. Below the shield is a cornucopia to show the prosperity and abundance of the state of Wisconsin along with 13 lead ingots. 3x5 Alabama State Flag For Sale The Alabama State flag was adopted in 1895. The design is a crimson cross of St. Andrew on a white field. Speculation says that the crimson cross (saltire) was designed to resemble the blue cross of the Confederate Battle Flag. Another speculation (less likely according to historian, but possible) is that the flag carried by Co. "F", 7th Alabama Cavalry was the inspiration for the Alabama State flag. The regiment was the only Alabama regiment in Rucker's Brigade. The Rucker's Brigade flag was white background with a red cross (saltire) charged with 13 blue/green stars. 3x5 Virginia State Flag For Sale Made with bright, vibrant, and durable Solormax Nylon. 2 brass grommets  Indoor/Outdoor Flag Made in America Sold by Americans The Commonwealth of Virginia state flag consists of the obverse of the Virginia State Seal on a field of dark blue. The flag was first adopted in 1861, at the beginning of the American Civil War and then additional standardization to the flag in 1950. In the center of the flag, the seal sits with a female figure personifying the Roman virtue of Virtus, a figure of peace. She stands in a victory pose with the battle already won with the tip of her long spear facing down as she uses it as a rest. In her other hand, she holds a sheathed sword, a parazonium, which is a sword not of combat but on authority. Her foot stands on the chest of Tyranny, representing Great Brittain. The royal crown lay on the ground representing the Commonwealths new freedom from the monarchical control of the king. The figure of tyranny has a broken chain in his left hand with a useless whip in his right. These are symbolic of Virginia breaking the chains of tyranny and the relief from torturing whips used as acts of punishment by Great Brittian. Tyranny wears a robe of purple signifying Julius Ceasar and the Roman King Tarquinius Priscus.  This image is encircled by sprigs of Virginia Creeperred flowers. In between the image and flowers at the top is the word "Virginia" with the words at the bottom reading "Sic Semper Tyrannis." Which translates to "Thus always to tyrants" but more popularly the motto is said to mean "Get your foot off my neck." Virginia State Seal When the colony of Virginia declared it's independence from Great Britain a committee was appointed to make an official seal for the Commonwealth of Virginia. The committee had only 4 members, Richard Henry Lee, George Mason, George Wythe, and Robert Carter Nicholas Sr., and as they did not want the seal to mimick the coats-of-arms used in Great Britain in the slightest they opted for a design inspired by Ancient Rome and adopted a two-sided Seal. (shown below) While the Great Seal (obverse side) is described above displaying on the flag the reverse contains 3 Roman goddesses, representing blessings of freedom and peace. The center goddess is the matron Libertas, the goddess of individual liberties, holding a wand with a Phrygian cap hanging from the top signifying her magical gifts. On her left, Ceres stands, the Roman goddess of agriculture. She holds an enormous stalk of wheat in one hand and a horn of plenty in her other to signify the abundance of Virginias harvest. On Libertas's right, Aeternitas stands to represent the eternity of Virginia. She holds a golden ball, a symbol of authority, with a phoenix standing on the ball to represent the effective government in the Commonwealth. Above the goddesses the motto of "Perseverando" which translates to "Persevering." Said to represent a reminder to all future generations the need to persist in maintaining the blessings of liberty.   

3x5 New Mexico State Flag For Sale The New Mexico state flag is a field of yellow with a red sun symbol of the Zia in the center. Designed in 1920 to highlight the states Indian Pueblo and Nuevo Mexico Hispano roots. The colors are inspired by the flags of Habsburg Spain (the Cross of Burgundy flag,) and the Crown of Aragon, which was brought by the conquistadors. New Mexico is one of only 4 state flags to not contain the color blue. The state held a design contest, which was won by Harry Mera of Sante Fe. As an archaeologist, he was familiar with the Zia Sun symbol which held sacred meaning. Four is a sacred number which symbolizes the circle of life.
