WHY WIND RATING MATTERS

Wind Rating & Location

Wind is the main load a flagpole carries, from both the shaft itself and the flag flying on it, and it gets stronger as height above ground increases and as you move toward the coast. Every Atlantic Flagpole commercial pole is rated at a specific flagged wind speed for the recommended flag size; larger flags, higher local wind zones, or an oversized flag can lower the effective safety margin.

Our standard commercial poles (Adirondack, Whitney) are rated for 110–120+ MPH flagged wind speeds. For coastal areas, open exposure, or known high-wind regions, our heavier configurations (Rainier and larger Denali poles) are built with thicker wall aluminum and larger butt diameters to reach ratings up to 150+ MPH.

HALYARD SYSTEMS

How the Flag Raises & Lowers

All three options are built to run for decades with minimal upkeep.

External Halyard

The traditional setup: flag runs on a rope with a cast aluminum cleat at the base. Simple, low-maintenance, easy to inspect.

Internal Halyard with M-Winch

The flag and cable run inside the pole shaft, operated with a removable crank handle and locked with a key. Clean look, added security, no rope slapping in the wind.

Internal Halyard with Cam Cleat

A budget-friendly internal option: the halyard runs inside the pole to a locking access door with a cam cleat. Good security at a lower cost than the M-Winch.

FINISH

Choose Your Finish

Every commercial pole is built from seamless 6063-T6 aluminum, ground-set and precision tapered. Choose from four standard finishes: Satin Aluminum (the industry standard, low-maintenance brushed finish), Clear Anodized, Dark Bronze Anodized, or Black Anodized. Anodizing bonds the color into the aluminum itself, so it won't flake or peel, and it adds extra corrosion resistance for coastal sites. Custom powder-coat colors are also available on request.

Every Commercial Pole Includes

Ground Foundation Sleeve

Galvanized steel, sized to your pole's butt diameter.

Revolving Truck & Pulley

Cast aluminum, built for daily raising and lowering.

Cleat or Lockable Access

Depending on halyard system chosen.

Ball Ornament

Gold anodized aluminum, standard on most series.

American-Made Aluminum

Seamless 6063-T6 shaft, precision tapered.

Freight Delivery

Shipped direct, with installation quoted separately.
