North Dakota State Flag
3x5 North Dakota State Flag For Sale
The North Dakota state flag is basically an exact copy of the banner carried by the North Dakota troop contingent in the Phillippine-American War and was adopted on March 3rd, 1911. The flag is meant to resemble the Great Seal of the United States. Interestingly the flags official proportions are 33:26 (shorter than most state flags) however; in practice, they are sold as 5:3 ratios. The flag features a bald eagle holding an olive branch and arrows in its talons, set on a field of dark blue. The eagle carries a red ribbon that reads "One nation made up of many states" in its beak. The eagle's breast is protected by a shield with 13 stars representing the original 13 colonies of America. Below the eagle, a brilliant scroll with the words "North Dakota" is proudly displayed and at the top of the eagle, a fan shape radiates showing the birth of the nation.
